Civinity Engineering will install the engineering systems for the new BOD Group Innovation Centre

BOD Group’s high-tech research and business centre is expanding, with the construction of the new BOD Group Innovation, Research and Laboratory Building, which is expected to cost over EUR 21 million in total, getting underway.

The 5-storey, 33,000 m2 BOD Group Innovation Centre on Mokslininkų Street in Vilnius will concentrate the full innovation and research potential of the BOD Group, and will house a number of high-tech companies, laser, solar cell and optical lens laboratories, all of which are subject to stringent requirements, including an A++ energy efficiency rating, which ensures a virtually zero-energy building. “Civinity Engineering was awarded the tender for the installation of the engineering systems for the BOD Group Innovation Centre and signed a €2.5 million contract for the construction contract.

“This will be a new type of multifunctional building, where we will not only set up laboratories to meet the needs of experimental production and research activities, but also office and employee recreational facilities. As an innovation centre, we aim for the most advanced engineering solutions. This is not the first project we will be developing with Civinity Engineering, so we trust them,” says Aurelijus Šapranauskas, Director of BOD Group Innovation and Business Centre.

“A significant part of the Innovation Centre building will be occupied by laboratories, so special attention is paid to the cleanliness of the indoor air – its supply and high-level filtration systems. The responsibility for supplying and installing the heating, ventilation, cooling, plumbing and wastewater systems in a building of this level will also pose a number of challenges in terms of technological needs, but we are prepared for them,” comments Nerijus Rudokas, Development Manager at Civinity Engineering.

According to him, Civinity Engineering started its cooperation with BOD Group with their first project in Lithuania, which involved the installation of a geothermal heating system – at that time a new technology for this type of buildings in Lithuania.
